If we translate the word “matcha” from Japanese to French, we simply get the term “tea powder”! As the name suggests, matcha is a powdered tea.

Compagnie & Co’s organic matcha is a blend of two green teas, Aracha and Tencha (a species named for the Japanese word for “grinding tea”), harvested in the south of Japan in the prefecture of Kagoshima.

After heating the water up to 75°C (and no more, otherwise your matcha might be bitter), pour it into the cup over the powder. Then use a chasen (bamboo whisk) or a regular whisk to whisk until you get a slightly creamy texture.
